I mistakenly sent an email to Susan Miller and asked a couple of questions about the vehicle she(he) was selling… I knew the price was too good to be true, but I had to at least ask.

So, I got back a reply pretty fast that didn’t answer my questions, one of which was how many miles it had. Instead I got a barrage of information about shipping and using ebay as an escrow account, with all shipping paid by them and satisfaction guaranteed… of course!

So, with the avalanche of unasked for info and their reply sounding like they were already starting proceedings with ebay…. I did a little search online. They also were not even in Utah! I ONLY wanted to see vehicles I could visit and check out personally as well as have my mechanic test.

Thanks! For this blog and I hope more people do what I did and spend a little time to save a LOT of money!

Exoboy, thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes, to find our warnings, one must first have the intuition to place few terms into a search engine. It appears your gut told you to check the vermin out before getting too far. Good for you! Now, please educate all your friends and family on how these criminals work. An informed consumer is our goal.

Thanks, Yvette. Be sure to post the texts of the criminal’s emails into another comment. It’ll help a future victim avoid being taken. Cleanse the text of any personal info of yours and I will recheck the same prior to approving the comment.

Have just been corresponding with someone who called themself Steven Stone whose address is dede7tm@gmail.com. This person (whom I contacted) was trying to sell a RV at a VERY good price on craigslist. The ad was taken down a few minutes after being posted. After research here his address came up as a scammer. I ask several questions that he did not answer that prompted the research.

Here’s another one – diane.bent@comcast.net. I just got this email from them:

    Hello Steve,
Please let me explain to you the process of this transaction and you can decide if you want to proceed with this purchase or not. As I told you in my first email, the motorhome brings me sad memories and I sent it to a shipping company. I’m in Des Moines IA but my presence won’t be necessary because I signed an agreement with eBay to sell the motorhome through them. The motorhome is in Des Moines at the shipping company that is affiliated with eBay along with the title and a bill of sale already signed by me, ready to be delivered to a new owner. The deal includes free delivery and it will arrive at your address in 3 to 5 working days. You will have 5 days to test and inspect the motorhome prior to making a decision if you want to keep it or not and if by any reason you find something you don’t like about it you can send it back at my expense. If you want to make this deal I need the following details from you: full name, address, and phone#.
Once I have your info I will forward them to eBay to get things started. eBay will contact you shortly after they have the details with all the information that you need to complete this deal and you will also have proof that I am covered by them and a legitimate seller. Waiting for your email with the requested details.
    Regards

    Hi ,
My name is Diane Bent, and I’m emailing you regarding the 1997 FLEETWOOD FLAIR 28FT CLASS A that I have for sale. The Rv is in perfect condition, with no need for any additional repairs. Flawless exterior/interior condition, no scratches and no dents. It has never been involved in an accident. The mileage is 52,300, automatic transmission. It has a clear title with no loans or liens on it. I’m selling the Rv because my 21’s years old son died 2 months ago in a car crash. A drunk driver hit him and his fiancee. They were with her car on their way to his little brother’s birthday. It was his Rv and it brings me bad memories and that’s the reason I want to sell it as soon as possible. The price that I’m asking is $4,500. Just let me know if you are interested and where are you located.
    Thank you,
    Diane

vmatela@comcast.net is trying to sell my daughter a 2008 Nissan Maxima on Craigslist, for $2050. She says she is an oceanographer off the coast of Spain, who is going through a divorce and wants to proceed quickly, but can’t meet the customer. Supposedly, the car is at Google Checkout shipping center in Jackson, LA.

In response to Steve K’s post on March 13, 2012, my husband is currently going through the same correspondence with “Diane Bent” but this time it’s about a 1989 Grady White Gulfstream. The correspondence is verbatim, down to the son who died in a car accident two months ago. Truly sick and disgusting. Thanks for posting and saving us a lot of grief.

If it sounds toooooo good, It is not!!! The price caught my attention and I answered to confirm. Something told me tho search. The same ad was removed in FL, and I just found the original True lisitng. Apparently they just copied one of the pictures and put it out there to see who they would snag.

this is the link for over 14K. not 3.

I have been in conversations today with the Steven Stone. Same as the comment before where he had an RV at a very good price. I went back to craigslist to find the ad after we had emailed back and forth twice and couldn’t find. That’s when I decided I should do more research. A quick google search of his name and email pulled this site up. Clearly he’s still out there and awaiting his next victim. Sickening…. is there no way to stop that? Its disgusting!
