    Hey there People,

I just surfed on this site to validate a car sale for a friend. Turns out the EBAY syndrome has occured on Craigslist again with this email charlotte_d1f@yahoo.com, and replies from a different email, chadodd@googlemail.com, typical Method (MO) of scammers. After Emailing, they say they are in Kentucky, but the listing was for the CA area.
We also found the same vehicle here:
This is a San Diego listing…
    http://orlandocarsonline.com/2007-nissan-altima-2500-2/

Beware this email does the Ebay Scam.

Once again, another good deal on craigslist too good to be true, found listed in different areas over the states
    marta68anderson@gmail.com

beware of this email on craigslist..
typical give away price at $2500 on all vehicles we found..

    We suspect this email address
claudia67tapian@gmail.com is the same person above.

the reason for this is the same style of email, firstname,number,lastname@website.com

Also it’s hard to trace the original IP from gmail or aol in the headers.

I too was phished for a scam on a CraigsList for a Chevy Impala. Look at the e-mail below from apierce69@comcast.net:

    Hi,

Thanks for taking a part of your time and visiting my ad 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS.
I sell it at this price ($2,800) due to a change in circumstances of health I have had sciatica for 6 months and it impossible for me to drive it.I am also financially strapped due to medical bills, and in rapid need of this sale. This car is in excellent working conditions, no scratches, flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title. The car has 18,000 miles. This car may be purchased with money back guarantee. In summary you are permitted to buy and drive this car for 5 days or 500 miles. If you don’t want the car, you can return it to me for a full money refund! From the begining you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services.
It is simple and is great for both parties so that any lack of trust is eliminated.I will wait your answer(if you are interested to buy) very soon.

Have a better than expected day!

For some reason before I hit ” reply ” I put the e-mail address in Google and this site pooped up with this faudulant jackass!!! Don’t fall for it.

Healorett@comcast.net tryed to sell me a dodge ram 3500 it is a big scam!!!! dont fall for it they use western union to send money n say its through Ebay and its not!!! and apperently this adress is linked to many more things for sale and she told me she was recently divorced and her daughter was in the hospital and she was just trying to get ride of it …

  5. JR said, on March 24, 2011 at 12:18 am

healorett@comcast.net is one email address tryin to sell a 1998 Dodge Ram 3500 and anow a new email tied to the same exact ad is jessica99masa@msn.com
    …same story as above:

The car is already at the delivery company in Worcester, MA ready for delivery.I recently moved here after I divorced. I have setup this sale with eBay so this deal must go through them. Unfortunately I’m not near you and my daughter is in hospital so I can’t meet in person with you so this is the reason why I chose to sell my car on internet.
In order to complete this deal the payment must be sent to eBay . As soon as they receive the payment will notify me to start with delivery. The delivery cost is included in the price.
eBay will not release the payment to me until you receive and inspect the car (you have 7 days for inspection). If the car is not in same condition as I said you will ship it back on my expense and eBay will send you a full refund. But I assure you won’t be the case.
Now, if you are serious about this and want to move forward, just mail me back with:

    – Your Full Name – Required by eBay (You’ll receive important guidelines + payment instructions from them.)
    – Your Delivery Address and Phone Number

As soon as I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay and declare you as the buyer. They will contact you with further information regarding payment and delivery.

Thanks, hope to do business with you soon!
PS:The car comes with all the documents ( title, bill of sale, full service records, etc…) It has a clear title in my name. The title will be signed into your name as soon as the payment will be sent to eBay.

I hate dishonest people like this…Big Fat Scam, don’t fall for it!!!

From scammer Hailey Johnson -> magnum6633@gmail.com

    Hello,

Thank you for being interested in buying my 2000 Honda Accord EX Coupe, automatic transmission, 115 000 miles, VIN: 1HGCG2253YA032199. It is in EXCELLENT condition; the body and paint are great, no scratches and no dents; the interior is clean; it has never been involved in an accident; the title is clear.
I have recently moved to Portugal. I was hoping to take my car here but when I found out how much shipping and registration would be I’ve changed my mind. As I’m unable to travel in the near future and I don’t have anyone in the US to help me with the sale I decided to make this transaction through eBay. I believe this protects both buyer and seller and it’s the right way to do this.

The car was listed on both eBay and craigslist. I closed my auction on eBay earlier because someone has offered me the buy it now price, but didn’t have all the money available and I cannot accept financing because time is a real issue for me. The shipping arrangements have already been made before moving to Portugal. The car is at the shipping company in California, ready to go anywhere in the United States. It will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me.

The final price you will have to pay is $1,400. The payment will be done through eBay. They will act as a third party in this transaction. You will send the money to eBay and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship the car, you will receive it and will have 5 days for inspection, both the car and the paperwork. During all this time eBay will hold the money. If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you inform eBay about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back the car will be my concern. I think this is more than fair for the both of us. Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed.

If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them.

I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Also, feel free to ask me any question you may have.

    Thank you,
    Hailey

    Verbatim email of scammer:

    deborah77gibson@aol.com to me

As I told you in my first e-mail, I am in Atlanta,GA. Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay Motors so my presence isn’t necessary. The car is at the shipping company, ready to be delivered. The shipping cost is included in the total price of the car!You have 5 days to test it and inspect the car. So if you want to make this deal I need the following details from you:
    – full name and address,
    – shipping address ( Street address, city, state & Zip Code )
    – phone #
After I will have all this details I will forward them to eBay Motors and I will proceed the order. They will contact you with all the details that you need to complete this deal and also to see that i am covered by them and that I am legit seller. Waiting your email with the requested details.

    Best Regards!!”

They’re out there so watch out!

dianeturrnerr@gmail.com wanted to sell me a Honda Accord. following is the email I received:

    “Hello again,

Nice to see that you are still interested in buying my vehicle and i appreciate for taking your time to reply. Also I want you to know that I didn’t want to sell this car because it is very beautiful but I must to,because my husband was recently promoted as a chief manager and we had to move to Detroit,MI in a new home. I know that the best deal it’s to meet you in person, but believe me, i don’t have time to meet every potential buyers.
We can use eBay buyer protection plan. Which means that you will get the car and you will have 5 calendar days return-policy in which you can decide if you will buy the car or not. In the inspection period you can test the vehicle, go with the vehicle at your local mechanic for inspection, but do not put more then 200 miles on it.After your inspection period (5 calendar days) In case you won’t like the car (not your case) you will notify eBay and you will send the car back on my expense, if you want to keep it you will also announce eBay, you will send the funds (payment method and all the details will be set up by eBay) and you will keep the car.The car was bought from US but the duty and all the paperwork are already paid, also the car is safeties and e tested and it passed all the Canadian inspections.

PS: If you are interested in buying it please provide me your FULL NAME and FULL ADDRESS & PHONE NUMBER so I can initiate the deal through eBay. ”

WHY ARE THEY STUPID ENOUGH TO USE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS AND STORY LINE….. LOL

  12. Chief said, on June 29, 2011 at 5:14 pm

    Jotme,
They continue to use the same script because it still works! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” The criminal may not even speak fluent English, but he can obviously copy a script.

Searching on Craigslist or a car,Found an amazing deal on a car, obviously too good to be true, I asked what was wrong with the car, and why is it so cheap. She replied with this email. It’s a convincing email, and disturbing. So I asked if we could meet up and test drive it, and the second email is what I received! sending money through ebay, and so forth. ITS ALL A SCAM!!! HORRIBLE. I looked the email address up on google. and this website popped up. Ended my conversation about the car there. Watch out. They’re everywhere.

    (This is the Second Email)

    Hello again,
I`m located in Indianapolis,IN (the car is here with me) right now because i got a new job here, the thing is i`m very busy and i don`t have time to stay and meet with all my potential buyers, that is why i gave to a shipping company that will ship it to the next owner(on my cost). I will make the deal only to eBay. I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 10 days testing period after delivery. During that 10 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested in buying it so I can ask eBay to send you the details on how this works. If interested please include in your next email your contact info for eBay ( full name, full address ) so we can get things started.

The sammer email: Diane Turner – dianeturrnerr@gmail.com was selling a Lexus on Auto Trader in Canada. The phone number listed was for a fax machine in a hotel in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
I emailed to inquire about the Lexus and their reply read:

    ****************
    Hello,

My 2000 Lexus GS 400 with 157270 kms is in excellent condition, never raced or abused,no accident,no loans,it has been very well maintained.I am selling it at this price ($7,000) because I just went through a divorce with my ex-husband and when it has finished, I remained the owner of this car. I have some financial problems right now, so I want to sell it asap and a fast sale can be done only at a low price.

    *****************
I thought it was a deal too good to be true, so I asked to meet her and look at the car. Then it got weird when she wasn’t willing to meet me, rather direct me to E-bay, writing the same thing down as in past emails:

    ******************
After i finished the divorce i have moved to my parents home in St. John’s for a while, because i think they are only people who can help me to pass this difficult situation.Besides, there are a lot of things which have priority now, so, this car has to go.It has clean title, cleared of any obligations or fees (no lien) and it is registered in my name.I am a member of the eBay buyer protection and using this service you will get a 5 days testing period after delivery. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money. In the inspection period you can test the vehicle, go with the vehicle at your local mechanic for inspection, but do not put more then 500 Kilometers on it.After your inspection period (5 calendar days) In case you won’t like the car you will notify eBay and you will send the car back on my expense, if you want to keep it you will also announce eBay, you will send the funds (payment method and all the details will be set up by eBay) and you will keep the car.

    ***************
I reported it to the auto trader online company. Buyer beware – If it’s too good to be true, step back and take another look. Proceed with caution. THANK YOU to everyone else who wrote about this – By googling her email address you people have saved me from an embarassing costly mistake!! THANK YOU!!
