Scammers Do Watercraft, Too! 25 Foot Bennington Pontoon Boat

Posted in database, ebay spoof, scammer by Chief on July 23, 2010

The hottest scam bringing potential victims to this site is a six-month old scam found in Craigslist ads. A Bennington 25 foot pontoon boat has been the object of a scam that I have been following since January, 2010. Here are some examples of the criminal’s latest ads (click to enlarge for better reading):

We were also almost a victim of Shane Rodden! How sad! I was so disappointed because I can’t imagine this going on!!! We sent him our address and he was supposed to send instructions and then I found this sight!!! Thank You God!!!! I emailed him and his cohort Stephanie Johnson and told them I discovered they were scammers and was reporting them to local authorities. My email said the same things about the boat as the other ads from all over the US. I will never again be tempted to buy something I can not see or who will not call us to discuss!!!!!

Good for you, Debbie! We’re glad you found the site. Now, your job is to spread the word to your friends and family how these scammers work. Good luck finding a real boat. — Chief

I was a little suspicious today when I realized the boat was offered in like three different Texas towns. So glad I saw this…I wouldn’t buy sight unseen, but had ask for a number to call him at and what shipping company the boat was with….no response yet. JERK!!!

This is the same scam for a 1971 Chevelle with ads all over craigslist
The following email from Jonathan Woods when inquiring about the Chevelle

The vehicle is still available for sale, price as stated in the ad $3,750. It’s in perfect working order, no damages or scratches, it wasn’t involved in any accidents. You will inspect the vehicle before the payment will be made. I temporarily moved in Bar Harbor, ME with my work and I have the vehicle with me. All shipping costs and insurance during transportation are included in the price because I won a promotion at DAS auto shippers (1 free shipping+$500). You will also receive all necessary documents in order to finalize the purchase. I am selling the vehicle under market value because I need to pay the bank or they will take my house. Email me back if you’re interested and have further questions.

1970 CHEVELLE MALIBU COUPE W 350 2 BOLT MAIN (engine and transmission are both stock and have never been rebuilt or messed with). It is practically all original in superb condition, not messed with at all. All numbers match .This is my childhood pride. I have owned this since 1990, as a child it was my pride and joy and stayed with me since. This car is also factory equipped with air conditioning (works perfectly), factory front disk brakes (work perfectly) that have just been replaced (pads, rotors), power steering, turbo hydromatic 3 speed automatic transmission (original and works flawlessly). FACTORY SEATBELTS AND HARNESSES ALL ORIGINAL ARE A BIG PLUS ALSO. It simply coasts and cruises with a puuurrr, drives like a dream. Can be driven cross country on trips it is that smooth.

it’s NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
